Key Responsibilities:
The Custodian will perform essential functions including but not limited to:

  • Collecting and disposing of waste
  • Cleaning restrooms and restocking supplies
  • Maintaining floors through sweeping, mopping, or vacuuming
  • Addressing spills and hazards with appropriate equipment
  • Securing facilities after hours by locking doors and closing windows
  • Cleaning surfaces such as counters and furniture
  • Dusting and washing windows as necessary
  • Inventorying and restocking cleaning supplies
  • Arranging furniture as needed
  • Reporting maintenance needs to supervisors
  • Training others in custodial practices when required

Qualifications:
Candidates should possess:

  • Less than a high school education
  • One year of experience in custodial work
  • A valid driver's license
  • Experience with floor maintenance equipment
  • The ability to follow safety protocols and procedures
Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment background check and physical examination.

Physical Requirements:
This position requires physical stamina and mobility, including:

  • Walking and standing for extended periods
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and lifting
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
Effective communication skills are essential for this role.

Work Environment:
The Custodian will work under general supervision in a team-oriented atmosphere, performing both routine and variable tasks. The role involves working indoors and outdoors, with exposure to various weather conditions. Safety precautions must be followed to mitigate risks associated with the work environment.
