We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Postpartum Unit at St. David's HealthCare. As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the health and well-being of new mothers and their babies.
Job Summary:The Registered Nurse - Postpartum Unit will be responsible for coordinating and providing patient care for all assigned patients. This includes conducting initial and ongoing assessments, developing individualized patient care plans, providing family-centered patient teaching, identifying and correcting variances from the patient care plan, and facilitating discharge planning and teaching.
Responsibilities:- Complete admission interviews and document patient assessments
- Assess and document patient educational needs and instructions given upon admission and throughout hospitalization
- Facilitate interdisciplinary discharge planning
- Accurately administer and legibly document medications
- Continuously evaluate the plan of care to determine need for modifications
- Provide individualized nursing interventions based on the plan of care, and document patient responses to interventions
- 2 years of Postpartum nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Associate's degree Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program
- Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Registered Nurse, Certified in Inpatient Obstetrics (RNC-OB)
