POSITION SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Penn State New Kensington is looking for student workers to assist at the library information desk.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Assisting library patrons with the checkout and return of library materials.
  • Managing course reserves and media equipment.
  • Answering phone inquiries and providing technology troubleshooting assistance.
  • Shelving books and other materials.
  • Performing additional tasks as assigned.
Additionally, provide basic research support to library patrons by guiding them in searching the library's online catalog and databases. For any advanced research and citation inquiries, refer patrons to librarians. Candidates should demonstrate excellent customer service, strong communication skills, reliability, flexibility, and self-motivation. This position operates on a semester basis.
