Job Summary
The Department of Music at North Central College is seeking a Visiting Associate Professor of Music to teach undergraduate music education courses and serve as the Music Education Coordinator. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience in K-12 schools and a completed Ph.D. in Music Education.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate music education courses, including Introduction to Music Education and Performance Music Methods
- Serve as the Music Education Coordinator, including liaison to the Department of Education and student placements for practicum and student teaching
- Assist with department recruiting events and maintain collaborative relationships with area music educators
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Music Education or ABD
- Minimum 3-5 years of teaching experience in K-12 schools
- Commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring of students, and ongoing scholarship
- Experience working with diverse student populations and communities
