Job Overview

Tlingit Haida Tribal Business Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Electronics Technician Maintenance II to join our team. As a key member of our communications equipment maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of our communication systems.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced technician who can perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex communication equipment. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of RF operating systems, diagnostics, and circuits, as well as experience with test instruments such as pulse generators, spectrum analyzers, and distortion analyzers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair communication equipment components and their associated equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all communication equipment as scheduled
  • Apply comprehensive technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents
  • Perform troubleshooting, isolate malfunctions, and repair to the component level
  • Work typically requires detailed understanding of the interrelationships of RF operating system diagnostics and circuits
  • Use complex test instruments such as pulse generators, spectrum analyzers, distortion analyzers, site master's, and computer analytical equipment
  • Perform organizational and intermediate-level maintenance on assigned equipment
  • Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence and in selecting tools and testing instruments
  • Receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Formal classroom education equivalent to Navy 'C' School or vocational school with formal training in the field of electronic equipment maintenance
  • Four years' electronic maintenance in five or more of the following areas: digital/analog signal processing; communications (multiplexer equipment, VHF, UHF, microwave, fiber-optic); computer systems; wireless access points; radio over IP; DC power supplies; test equipment; RF signal processing; antennas; RF systems; low-voltage AC equipment; primary and secondary power equipment
  • Must meet the DOD 8570 certifications and requirements for IAT Level 1 (Network+)
  • Must maintain current Safety at Heights climber certification within 6 months of hire date
  • Will be operationally qualified at designated tech level within 90 days of hiring or promotion
  • Cross-trained and qualified to operate other range systems
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • When performing work, responsible for adhering to environmental, safety, and health standards related to the activity, including the wearing of all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Must cease work and notify lead, supervisor, or manager of all unsafe conditions

Salary Information

The salary for this position is estimated to be $23.57 per hour. This rate may be subject to change based on various factors, including location and qualifications.

Location

This position is located in Beaufort, SC, with occasional travel required. Ability to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet customer mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
