Job Title: Controls Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to join our team at Tolin Mechanical Systems. As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, programming, and commissioning Building Automation Systems (BAS) for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Program and configure Niagara N4 and Honeywell Spyder Classic/5/7 controllers
  • Develop user-friendly customer interfaces (graphics) and troubleshoot new and existing control systems
  • Assist with project layout, engineering, and design, and interpret mechanical and controls drawings
  • Provide quality as-built notes and identify additional controls opportunities and deficiencies
  • Supervise control system installation to specification/design and ensure quality installation and commissioning/checkout standards
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of continuous Niagara N4 use and 10+ years of HVAC controls experience
  • Extensive custom programming experience of N4 and Honeywell Spyders, and experience troubleshooting new and existing electrical controls circuits and devices
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, including pressure dependent/independent VAV, chilled and hot water, and various terminal air units
  • Demonstrated ability to develop rapport and productive working relationships with clients, vendors, and co-workers
  • Strong organization and time management/planning skills
