Telecommunications Laborer

About the Job

This position is an exciting opportunity to join the Ledcor Technical Services team as a Laborer/Flagger. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for performing manual labor tasks such as flagging, shovel/broom work, hand digging, pulling and removing material, job site clean-up, and various other tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform manual labor tasks such as flagging, shovel/broom work, hand digging, pulling and removing material, job site clean-up, and various other tasks
• Keep crew vehicles clean and conduct regular vehicle maintenance checks and associated paperwork
• Assist in trenching work, concrete work, building fences, and mini-excavator work
• Read underground utility locates and ensure safe digging practices are always being adhered to
• Assist in installing telecommunication fixtures, handling cables, conduits, and other materials

Requirements

• At least one year of related construction/telecommunications experience is preferred
• Working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental protection practices and procedures
• Electrical experience is an asset
• Must successfully complete a criminal background check, pre-access drug and alcohol screenings
• Must possess and maintain a clean driver's abstract and valid full-driver's license

Work Environment

• Able to meet the physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 50 pounds), working at heights, and in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, etc.)
• Able to travel to West Virginia for training for at least 3 weeks, then transfer to future work in Indiana
