Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

Aylo Health is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team in Stockbridge, Georgia.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare exam rooms and ultrasound equipment for sonography examinations, adhering to infection control and patient safety protocols.
- Assume responsibility for patient safety during sonographic examinations.
- Review patient medical history and supporting clinical information.
- Ensure sonography examination orders are complete and meet medical necessity standards.
- Evaluate contraindications, patient preparation, and ability to tolerate examinations.
- Communicate with patients in a manner suitable to their understanding.
- Use proper patient positioning tools, devices, and ergonomically correct scanning techniques to ensure patient comfort and safety.
- Conduct patient clinical assessments and perform diagnostic medical examinations as ordered by supervising physicians.
- Apply independent judgment to safely perform diagnostic sonography procedures.
- Acquire additional ultrasound imaging as necessary to facilitate optimal diagnostic results.
- Identify and document examination limitations.
- Review examination images and synthesize results.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with privacy laws and facility policies.
- Adhere to accepted professional and ethical standards.
- Provide preliminary reports of sonography examinations for interpreting physicians.
- Assist with daily operation of the sonography facility.
- Perform quality control procedures to ensure ultrasound equipment operates at optimal levels.
- Exercise responsibility for preventive maintenance of ultrasound equipment.
- Document incidental findings that might impact patient safety or care.
- Operate the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
- Exercise responsibility for maintenance and accuracy of facility reports, database records, and logs.
- Sonography education, training, and experience in the specialty area(s) to be performed.
- Demonstrated competence in the specialty area(s) to be performed, including sonographer certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and/or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
- Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and lifelong learning.
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer skills and software programs used for documentation activities and report generation.
- State sonographer licensure, where applicable.
