ER Nurse Position Overview

At Emerald Health Services, we are seeking a skilled ER nurse to join our team of travel healthcare professionals. As an ER nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency department environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Examine patients upon arrival and perform triage tasks to assess their condition
  • Identify injuries, signs, and symptoms, and communicate your assessment to the physician
  • Assist in patient treatment and explain prescription information to patients and their families
  • Know facility and government policies related to patient treatment, transfer, and discharge
  • Educate patients and their families about continued treatment at home before discharge

Requirements:
  • VA License
  • Minimum 1 year adult ER experience required
  • Copy of Diploma required
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • CPI
  • PALS
  • NIHSS
  • NPR preferred
  • TNCC preferred
  • Recent Emergency Department or Critical Care experience preferred
  • Education Bachelor of Science Nursing preferred
  • Training EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) training preferred
  • 2 years of ED experience preferred

Emergency room travel nurses are on the hospital front-lines, which is why emergency room travel nurse positions require a candidate who is able to handle a stressful and busy environment. They are responsible for examining patients upon their arrival and carrying out triage tasks to assess their condition. Ability to identify injuries, signs and symptoms, and communicate their assessment to the physician are required for the emergency room nurse. A travel ER nurse assists in patient treatment and explaining prescription information to patient/family among other tasks and must know the facility and government policies as it relates to patient treatment, transfer, and discharge.
