Job Summary

We are seeking a talented in-house attorney to support our growth. The ideal candidate will be an organized, responsive, and detail-oriented professional with strong real estate skills and deep knowledge of transactional work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft, review, and negotiate agreements for the acquisition and disposition of real estate and related documents, including letters of intent and transaction documents.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate retail, office, and industrial leases and related documents.
  • Handle all aspects of title work, including ordering and reviewing title commitments, clearing title exceptions, summarizing documents of record, and receiving and tracking title policies.
  • Maintain a deep functional knowledge and real estate expertise to support business objectives and manage risk.
  • Develop and refine templates, policies, and procedures to standardize and improve contract drafting and review processes.
  • Review, analyze, and provide guidance on lease terms and tenant issues to support the property management team.
Requirements
  • J.D. and licensure to practice in the state of Illinois.
  • Extensive experience handling commercial transactions.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards in real estate transactions.
  • Excellent business judgment, flexibility, and ability to proactively determine, prioritize, and resolve issues.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to manage, organize, and complete multiple tasks with competing priorities.
