Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Language Specialist to join our team in Midwest City. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing diagnostic and intervention services for students with speech, language and hearing disorders.

The successful candidate will work in cooperation with district administrators, teachers, parents and students to help students access the general education curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Providing speech-language evaluations for students referred by school personnel, parents, and coordinating agencies.
  2. Recommending appropriate placement and service delivery for students eligible to receive speech-language services.
  3. Providing consultative services to school staff by sharing and demonstrating specific techniques and working with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate relevant and consistent interventions for targeted students.
  4. Attending professional meetings, in-services, and workshops that provide information regarding communication disorders.
  5. Developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with speech/language impairments and assisting with IEPs for students with speech/language as a related service.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field.
  • American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) certification (Clinical Fellowship Year considered).
  • Oklahoma State Department of Education certification in Speech-Language Pathology; Oklahoma State Board licensure in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Knowledge of speech and language needs of individuals from 3-21 years.

Benefits and Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
