Position Overview:

As an integral part of the clinical team at Steamboat Orthopaedic & Spine Institute, the Clinical Support Specialist will work under the guidance of the Clinical Manager. This position is essential for the organization and execution of various medical tasks within the facility.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide thorough patient care as assigned, which includes performing assessments, administering treatments, and conducting diagnostic evaluations.
  • Enhance patient flow and assist individuals in moving to examination areas.
  • Aid patients in changing into examination attire and transitioning to examination tables as required.
  • Assist with the application and removal of casts and splints, as well as fitting patients with prescribed braces and other medical equipment.
  • Conduct dressing changes and prepare injections as needed.
  • Perform the removal of sutures and staples, along with setting up sterile trays.
  • Obtain and manage laboratory and imaging reports, while coordinating appointments for healthcare providers and various tests.
  • Deliver essential patient education and effectively communicate provider instructions.
  • Maintain a vigilant awareness of clinic operations and patient conditions, ensuring outstanding customer service.
  • Accurately document medical histories and symptoms in patient records.
  • Act as a liaison for patient care coordination with external entities.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable regulations and office policies, including HIPAA and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Manager on staff evaluations, training, and operational enhancements.
  • Participate in meetings and contribute to the formulation of effective workflows and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma is required; completion of a Medical Assistant program is preferred.
  • A valid Driver's License and current CPR certification are essential.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
  • Strong communication abilities and the capacity to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in Electronic Medical Record systems and Microsoft Office Suite is necessary.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
  • Capability to sit, stand, and walk for extended durations.
