Position Overview:
We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Mammography Technologist - Per Diem.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will operate mammographic equipment under the supervision of a Radiologist to generate clinical diagnostic images and perform routine diagnostic and interventional breast procedures in accordance with established protocols.



Key Responsibilities:
1. Operate mammography equipment to produce diagnostic images of specified body areas as directed for radiologist interpretation.
2. Perform additional assigned duties.
3. Instruct and mentor radiography students during clinical practicums, assisting them in conducting exams and evaluating individual images.
4. Aid in the upkeep and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies, promptly reporting any equipment issues to the manager or lead technologist.
5. Accurately enter exam coding and ensure timely completion of exams, adhering to all MQSA and ACR standards for mammography.
6. Utilize the PACS system effectively to make images accessible for radiologist interpretation.
7. Monitor exposure levels for pregnant patients, ensuring minimal exceptions.
8. Prepare patients through proper positioning and immobilization, providing clear instructions regarding the procedure. Conduct quality reviews of images in line with departmental SOP and MQSA guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify, candidates must possess a Technical Diploma from an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program, a New York State license, and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification. Advanced Certification in Mammography and experience in Radiologic Technology are required. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), problem-solving abilities, and customer service orientation are essential. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, is necessary, along with comprehensive knowledge of radiology and breast imaging equipment and radiation physics.

Preferred Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Radiology or a related health field is preferred.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with New York state law on salary transparency in job advertisements. The salary range for this role is $54.00 per hour. Actual salaries may vary based on experience, specialty, education, and hospital needs.

The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses, incentive pay, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
