About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Technician I to join our team at Wesley Long Hospital. As a key member of our Orthopedic Unit, you will play a vital role in supporting the Registered Nurse through observing and documenting patient conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with daily living tasks, including meals, personal care, and progressive mobility to support recovery and plan of care.
  • Assess patients' quality of life related to nutrition, hydration, and elimination to distribute resources and anticipate patient needs.
  • Admit, transfer, and discharge patients to move them to the appropriate locations in line with the plan of care.
  • Assist with clinical procedures, including monitoring blood glucose, recording vital signs, obtaining EKG's, applying restraints, and attending to elimination needs to provide comfortable care for patients.
  • Maintain unit inventories of supplies and medical equipment to ensure a clean and safe environment in adherence to the National Patient Safety Goals.
  • Check that fall-risk patients have the appropriate arm bands, socks, and signage to ensure physical safety.
  • Document all clinical procedures, patient interactions, and medication use to maintain a detailed patient history.
  • Respond promptly to delegation from registered nurse staff and share patient observations to ensure efficient collaboration.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certification required by State of North Carolina DHHR. Nurse Aide Certification required. BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
