This position involves performing initial and ongoing mental health screenings, evaluations, and assessments to identify at-risk inmates. You will assign mental health diagnoses, provide crisis intervention, and develop treatment plans tailored to each individual's needs. Additionally, you will work closely with other medical professionals to ensure quality care and continuity of service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional counseling services to inmates, including individual and group therapy sessions.
- Conduct mental health screenings, evaluations, and assessments to identify inmates requiring specialized care.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address mental health issues and promote recovery.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure continuity of service.
- Participate in training programs to enhance knowledge and skills in mental health and substance abuse treatment.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must possess a master's degree in psychology, counseling, or a related field, along with licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or a similar credential. Preferred candidates will have one year of post-master's experience providing professional counseling services.English
