The Registered Nurse First Assistant plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care within the surgical environment. This licensed professional is integral to the perioperative team, providing direct support to the surgeon during procedures.
Certification Requirements- Current CA RN License: A valid California Registered Nurse license is mandatory.
- BLC Certification: Must possess a current Basic Life Support certification.
- ACLS Certification: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification is required.
- CNOR Certification: Certification as a Nurse Operating Room is essential.
- Assist the surgeon directly during surgical procedures as a first assistant.
- Demonstrate a minimum of two years of experience in a perioperative setting.
- Complete credentialing through the hospital's Medical Staff office prior to commencement.
- Utilize EPIC software for patient management and documentation.
- Participate in on-call duties and rotational weekend shifts as required.
- Enloe Medical Center exclusively engages agency staff who are W-2 employees of their respective agencies.
- Registered Nurses in Med/Surg and Critical Care may be required to float to different units as necessary.
