Fleet Diesel Mechanic Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Fleet Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Dairy Farmers of America. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems
  • Inspect and repair semi-trailers, dry vans, and refrigerated vans
  • Work with drivers to determine root cause of complaints and perform repairs
  • Utilize diagnostic computer and other electronic systems to diagnose and repair issues
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
  • Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, bend, reach, and crawl for virtually the entire shift
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and assist others when lifting is required
  • Must be computer literate and have experience with engine, ABS, transmission, etc. diagnostic equipment and software
