Position Overview:


The Warehouse Forklift Operator plays a crucial role in the logistics process by operating material handling machinery to efficiently move, store, and manage inventory.

This position requires accountability for the safe and effective operation of forklift equipment, with additional responsibilities that may include order fulfillment and verification tasks.

The operator will be tasked with handling sit-down and/or clamp forklifts as part of their daily duties.

Key Responsibilities:
Utilizes forklifts and related equipment to stack and store products in designated locations

Safely unloads incoming shipments and transports products to storage areas

Prepares and organizes products for shipment

Ensures accuracy in the quantity and type of products loaded and dispatched

Conducts picking operations efficiently to meet service standards

Moves products from staging or storage areas into transport vehicles

Operates all machinery safely and efficiently, adhering to established work protocols

Keeps accurate records and reports to maintain inventory control and security

Assists with physical inventory counts

Ensures proper rotation of stock

Conducts cycle counts as required

Possesses knowledge of Excel and general computer operations

Demonstrates basic safety awareness in equipment operation

Responsible for promptly reporting safety issues to management

Reports any inventory discrepancies to the inventory control team and aids in resolving them

Completes inspection forms prior to operating equipment

Utilizes RF scanning technology to ensure inventory accuracy

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED preferred

A minimum of 3 months experience operating forklifts or warehouse distribution equipment

Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, up to 10-12 hours

Capable of lifting and/or pulling up to 50 lbs without restrictions

Regularly bends, lifts, stretches, and reaches both below and above waist level

Frequent walking throughout the distribution center, which may exceed a quarter mile

Ability to work in environments with varying noise levels, lighting, and temperature conditions

Willingness to work irregular or extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

Must obtain NFI forklift certification

Attention to detail, strong customer service skills, and basic math proficiency are essential
