Job Title: Analytical Chemist

Job Summary:

nLeague is seeking a highly skilled Analytical Chemist to join our team. As an Analytical Chemist, you will be responsible for performing complex chemical analysis on environmental, food, or clinical matrices to determine the level of contaminants or toxic substances using sophisticated instrumentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform highly complex chemical analysis on environmental, food, or clinical matrices to determine the level of contaminants or toxic substances using sophisticated instrumentation.
  • Adhere to Quality Assurance guidelines and maintain proficiency and technical expertise by passing Proficiency Testing (PT) samples.
  • Maintain assigned instrumentation in working order and perform preventative maintenance and repair on laboratory equipment.
  • Complete all required paperwork and maintain instrument logbook, prepare technical reports, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintain a safe and uncluttered work area and train and cross-train on other analytical procedures within the laboratory.
  • Assist the supervisor by performing related tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical or physical science from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an analytical chemist.
  • Broad knowledge of principles and practices of analytical, organic, and inorganic chemistry with subsequent experience during the last 2 years.
  • Prior working experience analyzing syringe residue/urine for opioids and other drugs of abuse using a Sciex LC/QTOF, LC/MS/MS, or an Agilent GC/MS/MS.
  • Extensive knowledge of appropriate state & federal laws, rules, regs, and policies relative to the specialty area such as EPA, FDA, DEA, ISO 17025, and CLIA.
  • Broad knowledge of good laboratory practices (GLP) and good automated laboratory practices (GALP).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others both within and outside of the laboratory.
  • Prior working experience with GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, and proficient use of same for qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Familiarity with Sciex equipment such as QTRAP 6500+ and X500QTOF preferred.
