This position is responsible for providing support to tax examination teams in conducting audits and investigations of tax returns. The successful candidate will have experience working with tax laws and regulations, as well as strong analytical and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the examination of tax returns and identification of potential tax fraud
- Conduct research and analysis of taxpayer information using automated systems
- Prepare and assemble work papers, schedules, and exhibits for examination reports
- Communicate with taxpayers and other stakeholders to gather information and resolve issues
- One year of specialized experience in tax examination or a related field
- Experience working with tax laws and regulations, including the Internal Revenue Code and the Internal Revenue Manual
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
This position is located in a federal office building and requires regular interaction with taxpayers and other stakeholders. The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
