Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Technologist to join our team at Wellstar Health System, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our radiology department, ensuring that all imaging procedures are performed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain departmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital standards.
  • Supervise and mentor radiologic technologists to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Coordinate with physicians and other hospital departments to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Ensure that all imaging procedures are performed in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
  • Monitor and maintain the quality of imaging studies, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Develop and implement quality control and quality assurance programs to ensure that imaging procedures are performed safely and effectively.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that imaging services are integrated into the overall healthcare delivery system.
  • Develop and manage budgets to ensure that imaging services are provided in a cost-effective manner.
  • Ensure that all imaging equipment is properly maintained and calibrated to ensure optimal performance.
  • Develop and implement training programs to ensure that radiologic technologists have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program.
  • Registered technologist in the modality of interest (e.g. RT(R), RT(M), etc.).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in radiology, with at least 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of radiology information systems and electronic medical records.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BS degree in Health Sciences or related field.
  • Certification in a specific modality (e.g. CT, MRI, etc.).
  • Experience with quality control and quality assurance programs.
  • Experience with budget development and management.
