Job Title: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Bridgewater State Hospital. As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and advocating for the needs of our patients.

About the Role:

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work with high-acuity patients in a locked unit setting. As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive patient assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct psychiatric care to patients, including evaluation, psychopharmacologic treatment, psychotherapy, and assessment for movement disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, taking into account the unique needs and circumstances of each patient.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive care and support for patients.
  • Advocate for patients and their families, ensuring that their needs and concerns are heard and addressed.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote best practices in psychiatric care.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Nursing or related field.
  • Current PMHNP certification granted by a Massachusetts Nursing Board recognized certifying organization, such as ANCC.
  • Valid Massachusetts RN licensure in good standing.
  • Minimum of two years' experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner working with high-acuity patients.
