Position Summary:
The Facility Operator is responsible for the daily operations of wastewater treatment plants, lift stations, and water facilities. This role involves monitoring equipment, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct daily operations and maintenance of wastewater treatment and water distribution systems.
2. Monitor and adjust treatment processes by observing gauges and control panels.
3. Collect and analyze water and wastewater samples for compliance and process control.
4. Prepare and submit operational reports to regulatory agencies.
5. Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues.
6. Address customer service inquiries and conduct meter readings.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a utility or related field.
- Valid U.S. driver's license.
- Possession of or willingness to obtain a PA Class C Water or Wastewater License within two years.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with staff and the public.
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in using computers and basic software applications.
Working Conditions:
This position may involve exposure to various environmental conditions and requires the ability to lift up to 75 pounds. The role may also require on-call availability for emergency situations.
