Job Summary:The Public Health Nurse will provide comprehensive care to patients under the Family Planning, STD, HIV, and TB protocols. This includes conducting physicals, diagnosing, treating, and managing patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing and experience working in public health or an outpatient clinic setting.
Responsibilities:- Provides comprehensive assessment of client's health care needs
- Provides treatments, administers medications/vaccines, and preventative/maintenance care to clients and families
- Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate client care plans
- Maintains accurate, detailed reports and client records
- Modifies client treatment plans as indicated by clients responses and conditions
- Monitors all aspects of client care, including diet and physical activity
- Monitors, records and reports symptoms and changes in clients conditions
- Prepares clients for, and assists with, examinations and treatments
- Prepares rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies, and ensures that stock of supplies is maintained
- Provides education to clients, families, and community service providers
- Provides health care, first aid, and immunizations
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university AND Current Georgia license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse AND CPR certification OR Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited college AND One year of nursing experience AND completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification
- Preferred Qualifications: BSN; Previous Public Health experience strongly preferred
