Job SummaryThe Behavioral Health Medical Assistant will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to implement individualized treatment plans, promote mental health education, and ensure high-quality client care. This role is crucial in supporting the well-being and recovery of clients in the behavioral health program.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and record client vital signs, symptoms, and behaviors.
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers.
- Assist clients with mobility and transfers as needed.
- Provide emotional support and a compassionate presence to clients.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Assist healthcare providers during psychiatric assessments and treatments.
- Perform basic clinical procedures, such as EKGs, phlebotomy, and specimen collection.
- Coordinate client appointments and follow-up care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for each client.
- Document client interactions, treatments provided, and any observed changes in condition.
- Ensure compliance with client privacy and confidentiality regulations.
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Certificate or Certified Nursing Assistant program.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in psychiatric or mental health settings.
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric disorders, psychopharmacology, and psychotherapeutic techniques.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
