We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Endocrinologist to join our team at St. Luke's Hospital. As a Pediatric Endocrinologist, you will be responsible for providing medical services in the general care and treatment of patients in both practice and hospital settings.
Key Responsibilities- Perform history and physical examination of all patients seen.
- Provide cost-effective, high-quality care based on best practice evidenced-based medicine.
- Make best efforts to adhere to standardized orders and practice guidelines that have been approved by the medical staff.
- Demonstrate competency in the assessment, range of treatment, knowledge of growth and development, and communication appropriate to the age of the patient treated.
- Provide regular, timely, and appropriate communication with referring physicians, patients, and their families.
- Participate in education of patients and their families.
- Evaluate and implement patient healthcare needs. Perform routine exams and obtain patient histories. Manage patient treatment programs based on assessment of needs. Initiate treatment via prescriptions, diagnostic tests, exams, and procedures. Review lab results and plan actions according to results. Perform routine health maintenance activities for new and established patients.
- Coordinate patient care and make referrals to physicians, nurses, psychologists, nutritionists, etc., as needed. Collaborate and communicate with other professionals, nurses, physicians, and outside agencies regarding patient care.
- Coordinate patient care and family counseling with public and mental health agencies as appropriate.
- Teach wellness habits and educate patients on prevention of potential health problems or method of dealing with present problems. Provide information and materials relating to patient healthcare needs.
- Maintain knowledge of current medical practices and skills.
- Maintain confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/Entity as well as the proper release of information.
- Comply with Network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient, and environmental safety and follow appropriate reporting requirements.
- Graduate of an accredited medical school and completion of residency and/or fellowship in area of specialty.
- Current or recent experience in area of specialty.
- MD or DO - licensed by the state licensure board within the State of practice. Board Certified/Eligible in the area of specialty by the appropriate medical board.
The Pediatric Endocrinologist will work in a fast-paced environment, providing medical services to patients in both practice and hospital settings.
