About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team at HCR Home Care. As a key member of our rehabilitation services, you will play a vital role in helping patients achieve their physical goals and regain independence.

Job Description

  • Treat patients to relieve pain and/or develop or restore function to reach the highest level of independence possible.
  • Instruct patients and their families in the use of prosthetic, orthotic and assistive devices (canes, walkers, wheelchairs, etc.).
  • Write clinical progress notes on the date of the visit for inclusion into the patient's permanent record.
  • Attend Physical Therapy staff meetings, conduct in-service presentations and case conferences.
  • Perform an on-site, joint visit with the assigned Physical Therapist initially, and communicate regularly for instruction in changes in the patient's program.
  • Communicate regularly with the case manager and other health care professionals assigned to a case.
  • Instruct patients and their families in transfer techniques, home exercise program and activities of daily living as assigned by the physical therapist.

Education and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A graduate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
  • A current, valid PTA license issued by NYS Department of Education.
  • At least one year of practical experience as a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant.

Work Environment

This is a non-office setting position, which may involve exposure to outdoor conditions. The working conditions are classified as medium work, requiring exertion of up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000, depending on experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a generous paid time off policy.
