Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our team at Joe Van Gogh Inc. This is a full-time position that requires a strong leadership presence, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role
  • This role supports the Store Manager in all aspects of store operations, ensuring best practices are followed by each team member.
  • The successful candidate will have strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in sending weekly reports to Roast Works.
  • Monitor inventory levels, ensure freshness, and place necessary supply orders in a timely manner.
  • Create and maintain bar schedules, including time off requests and coverage.
  • Ensure proper cash handling procedures, accurate deposits, and robust financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure catering orders are fulfilled accurately.
  • Resolve customer conflicts, facility issues, equipment challenges, and other concerns promptly.
  • Analyze store financials, implementing strategies to improve sales or labor percentages as needed.
  • Contribute to store maintenance/upgrade projects, adjusting and submitting payroll hours accordingly.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of management or leadership experience.
  • At least 1 year of barista experience.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work weekends and on-call shifts.
  • Criminal background check (as required by JVG's institutional partners).
