Job Summary

College of the Canyons is seeking qualified adjunct faculty members to teach Commercial Music courses. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a dynamic learning environment that values instructor/student interaction and effectively engaging with and facilitating authentic learning for students of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Commercial Music courses at the Valencia or Canyon Country campus, or other college teaching locations.
  • Develop and implement curriculum that meets the needs of students and aligns with the college's goals.
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback to students.
  • Participate in department, division, and college committees, and participatory governance activities.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current in the field of Commercial Music.
Requirements
  • Possession of an unexpired California Community College Instructor Credential in Music.
  • OR - Any bachelor's degree and two (2) years of full-time equivalent professional experience directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment or the equivalent.
  • OR - Any associate degree and six (6) years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment or the equivalent.
Working Conditions

Assignments may include Monday through Friday (day and evening), as well as Saturday classes. Adjunct faculty members are expected to be flexible and adapt to changing circumstances.

Benefits

Adjunct faculty members are paid on an hourly basis, with a starting rate of $88.30 per hour. Benefits include access to college facilities and resources, as well as opportunities for professional development.
