The Role: We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Stress Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our design engineering department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the structural integrity and safety of our aircraft products.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough stress analysis on aircraft structures and components to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.\
  • Apply finite element analysis (FEA) tools and methodologies to model and simulate structural behavior under various loading conditions.\
  • Collaborate with design engineers to provide input during the product development phase, offering insights to optimize structural performance.\
  • Evaluate and validate analytical results through testing and correlation with physical testing data.\
  • Produce comprehensive reports detailing stress analysis findings, providing recommendations for design modifications as needed.\
  • Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and regulatory changes related to aeronautical stress analysis.\
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement efficient design solutions.\
  • Analyze and resolve complex structural issues that impact aircraft performance and safety.\
  • Develop and maintain accurate documentation of design calculations, test results, and analysis procedures.\
  • Participate in regular design reviews and audits to ensure adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements.\
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the organization.\
  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices.\
  • Provide technical expertise and support to other departments as required.\
  • Pursue opportunities for certification and licensure in areas relevant to the position.\
  • Contribute to the development of new designs and technologies that meet or exceed customer expectations.\
  • Collaborate with suppliers and partners to identify and implement innovative solutions that enhance aircraft performance and efficiency.\
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional projects to drive process improvements and quality enhancements.\
  • Support the implementation of design for manufacturability and assembly (DFMA) principles to reduce production costs and lead times.\
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the design engineering department.\
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including program managers, engineering leads, and operations personnel.\
  • Coordinate with external partners, such as research institutions and universities, to access cutting-edge technologies and expertise.\
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote our brand and thought leadership.\
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for aeronautical stress analysis and provide training and guidance to colleagues as needed.\
  • Pursue opportunities for publication and presentation of research papers, articles, and presentations in peer-reviewed journals and industry conferences.\
  • Stay current with regulatory requirements and industry standards, and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.\
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and guidelines.\
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.\
  • We offer a competitive salary of $110,000 - $140,000 per year, depending on experience, plus comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, 401(k) matching, and professional development opportunities.\
  • A Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related field is required, along with 5+ years of experience in aeronautical stress analysis within the aerospace industry.\
  • Proficiency in finite element analysis (FEA) tools such as ANSYS, NASTRAN, or similar is mandatory.\
  • Strong understanding of aircraft structures, materials, and design principles is essential.\
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements is necessary.\
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are required.\
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, are essential.\
