Palliative Care Physician Position in Charleston WV

Position Overview: Charleston Area Medical Center is seeking a dedicated physician to become part of its growing hospital-based palliative care team.
Qualifications:
- M.D. or D.O. degree required
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine, with additional certification in hospice and palliative medicine (fellowship preferred)
- Eligibility for a West Virginia medical license and unrestricted DEA certificate
- Ability to secure medical staff privileges
- Expertise in managing complex pain and symptoms, along with chronic and life-threatening conditions
- Involvement in teaching responsibilities
Team Structure: You will collaborate with two palliative medicine physicians, two Nurse Practitioners, 1.5 Social Workers, and a PharmD. Responsibilities include providing care for a busy inpatient consultative service, with future plans for the establishment of an outpatient clinic. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with shared on-call duties.
