Position Summary:

The Class A Truck Operator will be tasked with the safe transportation of various materials and equipment to designated job sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport equipment and materials to various locations.
  • Load, unload, and secure all cargo effectively.
  • Ensure all loads are properly secured in compliance with DOT and company regulations.
  • Obtain necessary permits for transportation when required.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols at all times.
  • Maintain compliance with DOT regulations and keep all required documentation accessible.
  • Log hours of service accurately.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Utilize all required safety equipment for the tasks at hand.
  • Report any unsafe acts or conditions to supervisors.
  • Immediately report any injuries, accidents, or incidents to supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of six (6) months of relevant experience or training.
  • Understanding of safety systems related to equipment operation, including emergency procedures.
  • Knowledge of loading, unloading, and securing procedures for equipment.
  • Familiarity with proper equipment care and hours of service requirements.
  • Must possess a valid CDL Class A driver's license.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations for reporting purposes.
  • Capability to follow instructions in various formats, including written and oral.
  • Proficiency in driving manual transmission vehicles and maintaining a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use hands for handling and feel; bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and communicate effectively. The employee frequently stands, walks, sits, reaches with hands and arms, and climbs. The role requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

This position involves exposure to outdoor weather conditions and may encounter adverse conditions such as high humidity, extreme temperatures, and varying terrains. The employee may also be exposed to natural gas and electrical hazards. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
