Job Overview

Accounting Specialist – for a reputable organization. This role involves a variety of accounting and financial responsibilities to enhance the financial operations of the company. The position offers a temporary to permanent opportunity with a consistent schedule of 20 to 24 hours per week, allowing for some flexibility in the days worked.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify and record accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions, including check generation
  • Prepare comprehensive financial statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and management analyses
  • Reconcile bank, credit card, and investment statements
  • Close monthly financial records
  • Maintain budget spreadsheets to analyze actual performance against forecasts
  • Handle general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll tasks
  • Conduct daily banking operations
  • Prepare necessary government forms such as 1099s, W2s, W4s, I9s, and 941s
  • Process payroll on a bi-weekly basis
  • Collect and manage monthly payments
  • Organize and maintain an efficient filing system
  • Participate in required meetings
  • Manage health and insurance benefits as necessary
  • Prepare quarterly tax submissions

Qualifications:

  • A combination of education, training, or experience that equips the candidate with the necessary knowledge and skills
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with data collection, analysis, and evaluation techniques
  • Strong mathematical abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Adaptability and a positive attitude towards changing priorities
  • Ability to effectively interact with a diverse range of individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Self-driven with robust organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills, capable of working collaboratively within a team
