We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Stepdown - Burn Unit at Doctors Hospital of Augusta. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.
Responsibilities- Monitor and manage patient vital signs, including cardiac and other critical signs, to detect any changes and intervene as necessary.
- Respond to Code Blue situations and initiate protocol, special procedures, and cardiac monitoring as required.
- Manage the efficient flow of patients, including screening, preparation for examination, providing general nursing care, and arranging or testing and admissions.
- Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
- Maintain and review patient records, including posting tests and examination results.
- Administer medications in accordance with physician orders.
- Check rooms daily for necessary supplies.
- Respond to and refer incoming telephone calls, including phone triage when necessary.
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing: Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is required.
- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
- A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required.
- A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Health Care Provider is preferred and required to be obtained within 6 months of hire/transfer date.
- Prior acute care Registered Nurse experience is preferred.
