Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at the City of Monroe. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting the community, and upholding the highest standards of professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect crime, and to enforce laws and regulations.
  • Respond to emergency calls, provide assistance, and make arrests as necessary.
  • Investigate crimes, gather evidence, and prepare reports.
  • Provide support to the community through educational programs, community outreach, and other initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and community organizations to achieve common goals.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid North Carolina driver's license required.
  • BLET certification required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, make quick decisions, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in a variety of environmental conditions.
