We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced RN Lead to join our team at Christus Children's Hospital. As a key member of our nursing leadership team, you will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day activities of nursing personnel in patient care units, providing direction to Clinical Staff, and implementing work of assigned units.
Key Responsibilities- Organize and oversee patient care delivery during assigned shifts, ensuring proper staffing and smooth operations of patient care units.
- Coach and counsel individual team members, monitor and provide feedback on performance, and address training needs.
- Document daily staffing, operational, and administrative records, maintaining compliance with governmental policies and procedures.
- Provide direction and support to nursing staff, demonstrating and promoting respect for the dignity and rights of every patient.
- Allocate team resources responsibly and equitably, delegate appropriate levels of responsibility and authority, and provide oversight and guidance.
- Utilize the Nursing Process to assess patient needs, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes.
- Anticipate and plan for admission/discharge/transfer needs to facilitate patient flow.
- Plan, direct, and evaluate the overall nursing care and functions in a particular nursing unit during an assigned shift.
- Incorporate patient safety practices/guidelines to promote a safe environment resulting in positive patient outcomes.
- Follow specific standards and associated clinical procedures, analyze policy and standards documentation, and ensure organizational compliance.
- Share experiences with maintaining paper and electronic patient documentation, walk through the steps and procedures for receiving, validating, and updating patient records.
- Describe the flow of information between various stations or units, discuss the functions, features, and document flow of electronic documentation.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
- 2 years of clinical patient care experience in a relevant setting.
- BLS required, RN License in state of employment or compact, Current PALS certification at time of hire for experienced RNs or completion by the end of the clinical orientation period for new graduate nurses and maintain certification thereafter for ICU units that are exclusively pediatric, or as needed by facility requirements.
