Job Title: Positive Behavior Technician

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Positive Behavior Technician to join our team at Fargo Public Schools. As a Positive Behavior Technician, you will play a critical role in implementing behavior support plans using discrete trial training, shaping and chaining, prompting, and differential reinforcement, assisting the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Multi-Tier System of Supports (MTSS) team.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement student behavior support plans with fidelity inside the students' environments, including classrooms, recess, lunch, and PE.
  • Collect data, including frequency, duration, Antecedent-Behavior-Consequence (ABC), and interval data, to assist the PBI, MTSS team, and BCBA in developing and adjusting student behavior support plans.
  • Follow expectations prescribed by PBI, MTSS team, or BCBA for student programming, progress monitoring, and data collection.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities in the area of Special Education and/or Regular Education Standards-Based Education.
  • Contribute to the implementation of special projects when assigned.
  • Provide general student supervision as needed.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 40 hours of applied behavior analysis training prior to hire or within four (4) months from hire date.
  • One-year experience working with complex behaviors in the field of human services, education, or a similar field.
  • Strong content knowledge in core academic areas (literacy and math).
  • Ability to maintain composure under stressful conditions.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience serving diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates degree in education, child development, psychology, or a similar field.
  • Experience managing intense behaviors.
  • Experience working in a school setting.
  • Knowledge of Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) or Response to Intervention (RtI).
