Position Overview
The Accounting Support Specialist is an integral member of a diverse production support team, delivering second-level assistance and information to users engaging with the FI$Cal system while investigating and resolving system-related issues.
This role contributes significantly to the overall effectiveness of the FI$Cal system by offering customer service, troubleshooting, and resolving less complex system challenges. The incumbent operates under the direct supervision of a senior analyst, focusing on various accounting areas and modules of the system, including:
- General Ledger (GL)
- Accounts Payable (AP)
- Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Asset Management (AM)
- Lease Administration (LM)
- Project Costing (PC)
- Grants
- Customer Contracts
Work Environment
This position offers a remote-centered work arrangement, allowing for flexibility with telecommuting for three or more days each week. However, in-office attendance is required on designated days.
The incumbent must be prepared to work under pressure to meet deadlines, which may necessitate additional hours. Travel may be required as necessary, and the role demands adherence to the core values of the Department of FI$Cal.
Physical Requirements
The position entails prolonged periods of sitting in an office environment, utilizing a telephone and personal computer. Daily use of office equipment such as copiers and general office tools is expected. The incumbent is required to maintain a commitment to fostering a workplace free from discrimination and harassment, ensuring consistent attendance and adherence to all policies and procedures.

- Experience with Accounting Systems or Software
- Accounting Degree (Associate or Bachelor)

- Experience in Communication with Internal or External Customers
