Project Open Hand is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Driver to join our Distribution team. As a Driver, you will play a vital role in delivering nutritious meals to our clients and senior sites throughout San Francisco and Alameda counties.

Job Summary:

The Driver will be responsible for loading and unloading delivery vehicles, driving to ensure timely delivery of meals, and preparing route sheets and dispatch. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to customer service, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Load and unload delivery vehicles
  • Drive to ensure timely delivery of meals
  • Prepare route sheets and dispatch
  • Facilitate communication between clients, dispatcher, and client services
  • Provide client services with status updates on POH clients
  • Perform routine daily maintenance of delivery vehicles
  • Transport agency supplies and equipment as needed
  • Assist other departments and participate in agency-wide events as needed
Requirements:
  • Two years' experience driving large delivery vehicles in an urban setting
  • Valid California driver's license and excellent driving record
  • Schedule flexibility and ability to work nights, holidays, and weekends when necessary
  • Strong verbal and written proficiency in English to facilitate communication
  • Excellent professional references
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience serving clients with multiple diagnoses
Work Environment:

The work environment will be fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on delivering high-quality service to our clients. The Driver will work in a team environment, collaborating with other staff members to ensure the successful delivery of meals.
