Position Overview
Redwire Space – Goleta, CA is a premier developer and supplier of solar array systems for the global aerospace sector. Our flagship products encompass Roll Out and Rigid Solar Arrays.
We are currently seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Goleta, CA. In this capacity, you will be tasked with organizing and documenting the manufacturing scope for various programs, spearheading the development of innovative manufacturing processes and work instructions, and offering insights for the design of ground support equipment (GSE).
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement an optimized manufacturing process flow to ensure product quality and timely delivery.
  • Develop, assess, and enhance manufacturing techniques focusing on quality, cost efficiency, and first-pass yield improvements.
  • Demonstrate the ability to devise and execute solutions for complex technical challenges.
  • Plan and oversee resource utilization effectively.
  • Create technical documentation in collaboration with design engineers.
  • Assume responsibility for maintaining documentation for intricate, high-reliability assemblies.
  • Establish and uphold documentation for training, internal processes, and non-conformances.
  • Represent the manufacturing team in Critical Design, Manufacturing Readiness, and Test Readiness Reviews.
  • Exemplify professional conduct as a representative of Redwire.
  • Generate technical reports and presentations.
  • Review and ensure timely release of Flight and Ground Support Equipment (GSE) drawings.
  • Draft activity and project reports, develop action plans, and create work instructions, test procedures, and other documentation to support production operations.
  • Willingness to travel domestically up to 5% of the time.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
  • B.S. degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • At least 6 years of experience in the Manufacturing Engineering domain.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Proficient in Solidworks.
Desirable Skills
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience with solar and antenna arrays in the aerospace industry.
  • Proficiency in Visio, Excel, and MS Project.
  • Able to thrive in a rapidly evolving, low-volume/high-mix manufacturing environment.
  • A growth-oriented mindset.
  • Adaptable and able to perform well under pressure.
  • Encourage collaboration with assemblers, technicians, and engineers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation Range

$104,000 - $155,000
