Schedule: Continuous, 5 days a week; may require additional days during peak operations. Schedule is flexible and may include weekends, holidays, and varied times of the day as necessary.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and uphold the cleanliness of the Astronaut Crew Quarters (ACQ) facility at KSC, covering an area of 16,528 sq. ft.
  • Execute standard cleaning and sanitation tasks across 23 bedrooms with attached bathrooms, kitchen, communal areas (computer room, hallways, conference rooms, gym, lounge), and dining area.
  • Key tasks involve vacuuming, dusting, disinfecting surfaces, cleaning bathrooms (including tile floors, walls, toilets, mirrors, and showers), laundering bed linens, towels, and throw rugs using onsite commercial washers and dryers, and managing waste disposal.
  • Ensure kitchen areas are kept clean, including counters, sinks, appliances (refrigerator, stoves, microwave), and dishware.
  • Dust and sanitize furniture and electronic devices such as desks, tables, TVs, and gym equipment.
  • Work efficiently and meticulously to guarantee daily cleaning of occupied rooms and as needed for unoccupied spaces.
  • Comply with all NASA Health Stabilization Plan protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary.
  • Adapt to a dynamic work environment, providing support during peak periods associated with operations.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of one year of experience in housekeeping and sanitation within a commercial environment (e.g., nursing home, assisted living facility, hospital).
  • Knowledge of general housekeeping duties including laundry, bed making, bathroom sanitation, surface cleaning, dishwashing, vacuuming, and dusting.
  • Must successfully complete a comprehensive background check to obtain necessary access credentials.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts as required.
