Job Title: Pulling Unit Operator

AJ's Services, LLC is a family-owned oil company with a strong reputation in South Central Kansas. We're seeking a skilled Pulling Unit Operator to join our team.

Job Summary:

As a Pulling Unit Operator, you will be responsible for operating a double drum pulling unit in and around Butler County, Kansas. You will perform a variety of physical activities on the well site, including remedial downhole maintenance operations, assisting in servicing oil wells, and rigging up/down.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform remedial downhole maintenance operations
  • Assist in servicing oil wells, transporting rig and other vehicles/equipment to locations
  • Rig up/down, pull/runs tubing, rods, or casing
  • Manage, schedule, and lead a crew of 3-4 floor hands
  • Conduct daily morning safety meetings and ensure the safety of the crew
  • Assist in removing or installing well head and associated equipment
  • Lift, attach, install, and work with matting boards and associated well equipment
  • Oversight of floor hands operating rod wrenches, tongs, elevators, and other associated rig tools and equipment
  • Direct crew with spooling or unspooling guy lines, placing and operating hydraulic jacks, and placing of emergency and safety gear
  • Ensure crew maintains and cleans tubing tongs and hand tools on the rig
  • Turn in completed, filled-out work tickets in a timely fashion after every job
  • Clean up spills
  • Keep pipe deck and main deck areas orderly
  • Report safety hazards, accidents, or maintenance issues to supervisor/owner
  • Perform minor maintenance and regular upkeep on the rig
  • Drive company vehicles over various types of road conditions and terrains
Requirements:
  • Valid DL
  • Knowledge of basic mechanical functions
  • Oilfield industry experience
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Basic problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks at the same time
  • Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and background check
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education
  • Clean driving record
  • Welding experience
  • CDL Class A
