Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our team at GovCIO. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex computer systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the planning, design, and installation of equipment, using knowledge of engineering and programming as well as sophisticated instruments and computers.
  • Participate in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts.
  • Install all new hardware, systems, and software for networks.
  • Design and configure computer hardware, and operating system software, and other applications.
  • Generate system level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures.
  • Monitor system performance and implement performance tuning.
  • Review test plans/procedures and ensure they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participate in the testing process to validate requirements.
  • Maintain and administer related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.
  • Perform disaster recovery operations and data backups when required.
  • Protect data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning, and implementing network security measures.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve hardware, software, and other network and system problems.
  • Replace faulty hardware components when required.
  • Maintain, configure, and monitor security applications.
  • Creating and maintaining technical diagrams, documentation, and other configuration items.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar field with 7+ years of system engineering experience (or commensurate experience).
