Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Line Construction Specialist to join our team at the City of Georgetown. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the operation and maintenance of the City's electric distribution system by performing semi-professional, administrative, and coordination work as required.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the operation and maintenance of the City's electric distribution system by performing semi-professional, administrative, and coordination work as required.
  • Assist with research and formulation of long-range goals for the organization, development of policy, position papers, work methods, and sequences under general supervision.
  • Develop and design various solutions to engineering problems; seek alternatives to designs and submit plans to the Director of Electric Utility for approval.
  • Coordinate projects with local, state, and federal agencies, as well as other City and county departments, contractors, developers, engineers, land surveyors, architects, attorneys, environmental agencies/special interest groups, and other parties as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Requires associate's degree, vocational technical degree, or education and training equivalent to two years of college education in electrical engineering or closely related field.
  • Requires one year of experience in the electric distribution field or education and experience equivalent.
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license.
