Position Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled Ultrasound Technologist Registered Generalist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment and performing diagnostic examinations using sonography. The Ultrasound Technologist may be responsible for daily operations of the sonographic laboratory, patient schedule, equipment maintenance, reports of equipment failures, and quality assessment (QA).
Key Responsibilities:- Performs diagnostic examinations using sonography and operates Ultrasound equipment to take diagnostic images of specific body areas/parts as ordered.
- Produces diagnostic images for interpretation by physician and demonstrates a thorough knowledge of Ultrasound equipment.
- Prepares patient using proper positioning and/or immobilizing patients and giving them proper instructions regarding procedure.
- Accurately utilizes systems, enters proper exam coding, and arrives and completes exams in a timely fashion.
- Assists in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies, and reports any equipment problems or malfunctions to the supervisor in a timely fashion.
- Technical Diploma Graduate of an accredited two-year Ultrasound Program required.
- Registered Diagnostic Sonographer OR Registered Vascular Technologist required.
- Ability to effectively operate sonographic equipment required.
- Ability to evaluate sonograms in order to acquire appropriate diagnostic information required.
- Ability to follow established departmental procedures required.
- Ability to work efficiently and cope with emergency situations required.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $55.75 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
