We are seeking a skilled Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner with significant experience in Surgical Oncology First Assisting and Clinical practice.
The Advanced Practice Provider will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team focused on Surgical Oncology, ensuring comprehensive care throughout the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough histories and physical examinations, recognizing both normal and abnormal findings, including physical, cognitive, and psychosocial assessments.
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic evaluations.
- Formulate both pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical treatment strategies.
- Monitor the effectiveness of care plans.
- Educate patients regarding their conditions and treatment options.
- Execute procedures as trained and credentialed.
- Maintain accurate documentation within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and complete necessary paperwork.
- Collaborate and consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Engage in program development and quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide direct patient care for adults with acute and chronic conditions in both outpatient and inpatient environments.
- Oversee follow-up and postoperative care in the outpatient setting.
- Coordinate preoperative and postoperative arrangements with primary care and anesthesia providers for patients traveling from afar.
- Work in partnership with primary care, specialty care, and inpatient providers to deliver comprehensive patient management.
- Perform advanced treatments and procedures upon verification of competency, including but not limited to:
administration of chemotherapy, paracentesis, pleural taps, tumor biopsies, and more.
