Position Title: Life Enrichment Director

Overview:

The Life Enrichment Director is a key member of the leadership team, responsible for the creation, execution, and management of diverse engagement initiatives (activities, events, outings) tailored to address the various physical and cognitive needs of residents. This role includes overseeing the staff responsible for implementing these programs. The Life Enrichment Director will design, execute, and promote activity calendars that align with residents' interests, capabilities, individuality, and overall well-being. A commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and respect for residents and their families is essential.

Performance Metrics:
  • Achieving or surpassing satisfactory ratings on the organization's engagement program assessments
  • High levels of resident involvement, demonstrated by participation rates
  • Positive results in resident and family satisfaction evaluations
  • Effective management of departmental budget
  • Successful recruitment and retention of engagement personnel
Core Responsibilities:
  • Recruit, mentor, and retain a high-performing team of engagement coordinators and assistants through effective hiring and training practices
  • Design, implement, and manage a comprehensive engagement program in accordance with Cedar Ranch guidelines to meet the needs of all residents, collaborating with the Executive Director and management team as necessary
  • Keep updated Resident Social Profiles for all individuals
  • Develop and maintain a volunteer program through effective recruitment and training
  • Ensure clear communication with families regarding the engagement participation of their loved ones, while respecting privacy and HIPAA regulations
  • Foster a collaborative and open relationship with other department heads, colleagues, the Executive Director, and corporate partners
  • Demonstrate proficiency with community data management tools and computer systems
  • Assist the Executive Director and other department heads in implementing compliance measures
  • Fulfill rotating manager on duty responsibilities during scheduled weekends
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 3 years of experience working with seniors
  • At least 1 year of experience with seniors experiencing memory loss
  • A minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience
  • Understanding of the social and emotional needs of seniors
  • Comprehensive knowledge of dementia and its impact on cognitive functioning
  • Basic proficiency in computer systems, particularly Outlook and Word
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record; capability to operate community vehicles
  • Adherence to community-wide job requirements
