- Patient Education: Develop and implement teaching plans tailored to identified learning needs, involve family members as appropriate, and assess the effectiveness of education provided.
- Procedure Assistance: Assist physicians with procedures and perform technical and manual tasks as required by licensure.
- Respectful Care: Treat patients and their families with respect and dignity, addressing psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual needs, and act as a liaison among administration, patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
- Professional Interaction: Engage professionally with patients and families, including them in the development of their care plans, and maintain clear communication with Team Leaders, co-workers, and physicians.
- Developmental Care: Apply knowledge of growth and development to provide age-appropriate care, interpreting patient data to meet specific needs.
- Safety and Coordination: Ensure patient care is provided in a safe environment, minimizing medical/healthcare errors, and consult with other departments to support an interdisciplinary approach to patient care.
- Effective Communication: Maintain clear communication with Team Leaders, co-workers, and physicians, and build positive working relationships across departments.
- Documentation and Equipment Management: Ensure documentation meets current standards and manage equipment safely and correctly, coordinating and supervising patient care as needed.
- Adaptability: Demonstrate flexibility, organizational skills, and the ability to perform well under stress.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Licensure: Hold current Registered Nurse licensure in Louisiana.
- Certifications: Current BCLS certification required. ACLS certification or completion of an arrhythmia course is preferred.
