Job Summary

The Electrical Product Assembler role is a critical position within our final assembly department. This role involves making connections between internal and external assemblies, adding external components, and ensuring the quality of the final product. The successful candidate will develop skills in Tank Equipment, Wiring, Conduit, Drop In, and Encasement, and will be responsible for performing repairs on units, parts, or incoming materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive assignments and instructions from supervisors, both verbally and in writing, and follow established manufacturing procedures.
  • Read and understand schedules and work flow requirements, and coordinate with supervision and team leads.
  • Retrieve materials from storage areas and complete kits with hardware and parts.
  • Read and understand Engineering Instructions and Manufacturing Procedures, and apply them to assemble components per drawings provided and established standards.
  • Inspect assemblies, products, processes, and materials for conformance to design criteria, applicable specifications, and inspection procedures.
  • Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and orderly, and visually check equipment to ensure it is in normal operating condition.
  • Verify lifts and cranes before use, and perform minor equipment repairs and machine maintenance.
  • Use the shop floor labor collection system accurately, and punch in and out of operations appropriately for all types of work.
  • Write maintenance work orders for damaged tooling and equipment when necessary.
  • Utilize computer systems to review procedures, drawings, non-conformances, and other relevant information.
  • Perform work in other departments as needed, and follow all safety procedures and policies of the company.
  • Repair work on oily components inside and outside of the tank as required, and keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and orderly.
  • Train new operators, and investigate potential and actual non-conformances, recommending corrective action when necessary.
  • May work in Med Power, Large Power, or EHV product lines, and weld components with appropriate techniques (optional).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, and occasionally sit, walk, climb, balance, push, pull, carry, and work below waist level and foot use.
  • Shop floor located on a large manufacturing plant.
