Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatrician to join our team at Tuba City Regional Health Care Corp. As a Pediatrician, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical care services for pediatric patients from premature infants to adolescents up to 18 years old.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct outpatient well-childcare clinics, providing age-appropriate history taking and physical examinations.
  • Provide age-appropriate preventive care and instruct patients and family members as required.
  • Provide outpatient pediatric care for acute illnesses and patients with chronic medical conditions.
  • Consult with the emergency department for care of pediatric patients as requested.
  • Interview and examine hospitalized patients, review past medical history, and request or perform diagnostic tests and examinations as necessary.
  • Make preliminary diagnoses, direct, prescribe, or provide treatment, or arrange for specialized care or patient referral as required.
  • Provide emergency care as needed and definitive management in all medical categories for cases that do not require referral.
  • Give care, including prevention, health maintenance, early diagnosis, and treatment and follow-up services to patients under your care.
  • Provide care to premature infants who require Level II nursery care and stabilization for transport of critically ill newborns that require Level III nursery care.
  • Prepare appropriate medical records for all patients seen to assure the accumulation and organization of all pertinent clinical data needed to provide comprehensive medical care.
  • Dictate clinical reports and correspondence concerning patients under your care to physicians, hospitals, and other individuals and facilities.
  • Refer patients to appropriate contracted medical or other government facilities, providing full clinical information for care and diagnostic procedures that cannot be adequately provided here.
  • Coordinate and integrate information obtained into the ongoing Health Care Program at TCRHCC and assure the provision of timely follow-up care as required.
  • Work closely with allied health professionals to utilize and coordinate the services of other health care professionals in the management of patients' medical, psychological, and social problems.
Requirements
  • A Medical Degree, MD or DO.
  • Completion of a three-year residency program in Pediatrics.
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. If more than five years out of residency, must be board certified in Pediatrics.
  • Experience in providing care for Level II newborns and hospitalized pediatric patients or critically ill patients in the past three years.
  • A current and unrestricted license to practice as a physician in any state within the United States, District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
  • A record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers.
